Internet Gamebox

I came across this site months ago but I kept forgetting to post about it. The site is Internet Game Box. This site is really nice. You get to play over 1500 games for free! This is not one of those sites where you have to buy something or sign up for something before you can play for free. All you have to do is install the game console on your computer and you are all set to play. There are good games to play too.
  • PacMan
  • Sonic
  • Streetfighter
  • 3-D Frogger
  • Donkey Kong
  • Kim Possible- A stitch in time
  • Dragonball
  • Mario Bros.
We have not had any problems with the Internet Gamebox. My kids play the games from it at least 3 times a week and they have lots of fun. I play some of the games on my desktop and it works fine. Both of our computers run on XP. I have not tried it on my laptop which has Vista.

Earn Swagbucks to buy the stuff you want!!!

A few days ago I discovered this site called Swagbucks. You earn Swagbucks by using google search engine. During any of your searches you could be rewarded with Swagbucks. I got one on my first search. You are able to redeem your Swagbucks for prizes. There are some really good ones too. Subway giftcards, Amazon gift certificates, video games, video games consoles and so much more. You earn 3 swagbucks just for registering. I have been a member for only 2 days and already have earned 17 swagbucks. If you are on the internet anyway why not give swapbucks a try? I just save up for a few Wii games :)

Cooking Dash - Tips

Just thought I would post a few tips that I have learned while playing Cooking Dash. If you have any please share, it will be appreciated :)

If you accidently request the wrong item at Grandma's station just click on the right item and it will be replaced.

Even though you may want to move fast while playing remember to pay attention too. If you have to throw food away it will cost $30. If a customer gets made and leaves that costs you $200.

You are able to replay any level at any time.

Remember that Flo can only carry two things at one time.

When a customer who had a smoothie or ice cream, there will be no dishes to pick up. All you have to do is collect payment.

If you want to get a $100 bonus, make sure that the customer has all the heart full before they leave. To get a $75 bonus cook the food perfectly. You have to pay attention to the circle on the grill or deep fryer. Take the food while the circle is green.

When you start each level there are some menu items that can be prepared ahead of time. Ice cream, smoothies, burgers and subs. I also click the coffee pot to make sure it ready when I need it.

Uno Undercover

I grew up playing Uno and have great memories of it. As a parent I have introduced it to my own children who have come to love it as well. Uno is a great game for the entire family to play especially younger children. My youngest learned colors and numbers as well as how to take turns and how to match. Now there is a cool game for your computer called Uno Undercover. There are two modes that you can play quick and adventure. If you just want to play some fast hands of Uno then you choose quick. For a more in depth game you would play the Adventure Mode. You play as a professional player in a Uno World Tournament who really is a undercover secret agent. You have to beat different players in Uno games before you can move from level to level.

This game is truly enjoyed by my entire household starting with my youngest who is 6. It is Uno with a few upgrades that you will love and a cute storyline.

Cooking Dash

I love all of the Diner Dash games. I have been a huge fan of Flo since the very beginning. My kids and I were beyond happy when we saw the game Cooking Dash. This game is so much fun!! You have to be really quick because a few things have changed. Flo's chef Cookie has left to start a career on television. So now Flo has to prepare the food as well as serve it. The menu has changed too. Customers get to choose from nuggets, ice cream, fries, smoothies, chicken, subs and burgers just to name a few. Flo has Grandma to help but she only does the subs and burgers. Flo cooks everything else. The customers seem to be less patient this time around. So when you get a chance to buy the coffeemaker take it! It will make a difference and help your customers to stay around a little longer. This newest addition to the Dash family of games does not disappoint those of us who are loyal players. The graphics are amazing.Flo looks great as well as the food. Cooking Dash has a nice mix of 3D and animation and this helps to make the game that much more fun. In my opinion this is the best out of all the Dash games.

To my Entrecard droppers

I am trying to get my main site together so I apologize for not dropping cards back. Since I have been having every possible problem I could encounter I have not had much time for posting either. But I am going to start today on keeping up with those who drop on my sites. I think it is only fair and proper blog etiquette. I apologize again

Babyz - Nintendo DS

Even though I have not been posting I have been playing. Pretty much a little bit of everything. Since summer vacation has started I have had a little trouble focusing, lol. We have bought some new games though. They are pretty fun.

The first one is Babyz for the DS. I think it is fair to say I love any game that is "sim like" so when this went on sale I had to get it for the kids, *wink*. The title of this game reminded me of a game I had a few years ago where you could adopt babies and take care of them. It had a feature where if you plugged in your microphone you teach your baby how to talk too. I think you were able to at least adopt up to 6 babies at a time. It was pretty funny because I remember my daughter always had her babies at grandma's house. I thought the name was Babyz too but anyways I could not wait to get this game home to try it out. Of course I did not get the privilege to play first because my youngest loves these types of games too.

After you set your name up a stork comes and talks a little. I hate reading stuff on games so I just tap through. Your person starts on the second floor of the house. Someone knocks on the door and you can easily miss it. The next door neighbor comes over to ask you to babysit. She gives you a rattle and so the game begins. There are four basic rooms of the house. The kitchen, bathroom, living room and bedroom. At first glance I assumed there would not be much to do. It turns out there are quite a few mini games. It is kind of fun trying to keep the baby happy because not everything works. You have to keep the baby clean by giving baths, change diapers, entertain with toys and feed food. Your hand has to be pretty steady when it comes to rocking the baby though. My skills were "disappointing" a few times. Some babies actually cheer up when they have certain clothes on. You are able to shop on the computer when you are not babysitting for clothes, toys and stuff for the house. You get paid with money and vouchers when the babies are picked up. When there are no babies around you have to keep the house clean by vacuuming , cutting the grass and washing dishes. If you don't babies will get sick.

This game actually kept my attention and was not super easy. My five year old was not able to just pick up the game and play. I had to show her how to do a few things first. Her favorite part is giving the baby a bath. You have to be really gentle or the baby will start crying.

My Current Obsession - Virtual Villagers 3

Ok, I admit it. I am obsessed with Virtual Villagers 3. I was super excited when I first heard about this upcoming release. I have played both Virtual Villagers - A New Home and Virtual Villagers 2 - The Lost Children . I was able to complete the first one but the with the second one I was not as lucky. My daughter (10) did complete it though. It is safe to say that all of my daughters have become obsessed with VV3 as well. Everyone's first and last thought of the day is to check on their tribe.

This time around the game is definitely a little more challenging but don't let that keep you from giving this game a try. There are more food sources as well as new collectibles to find. I really like the fact that anyone can be chief including the kids. By far the best feature of this series of games is the fact that it is real time game play. That basically means the game plays even when you are away from the computer, but you can't forget to check on your tribe. If you do anything can happen, especially death! Your villagers can die from old age, starvation or a work related accident.

Anyways, I am currently stuck. I thought I was down for the count when my last male died a few days ago but luckily he got 3 villagers pregnant. Now I am down to my last female villager so I am working super hard to keep her pregnant so I can build up the tribe. My current food source is 15,140. I am having a hard time keeping them from harvesting fruit or fishing. I have 12 of my puzzles completed which is really good. When I got stuck the first time, I started looking for hints and tips. I found this great site, VirtualVillagers3. net that helps you with the potions as well as help with the puzzles. These tips do not take away from the game because you still have to do a lot of work, but it definitely helps.

So if you want to have a little fun with a different sim type game that runs in real time, give Virtual Villagers 3 a try. You can use the link below to get a free full version of the game or visit my gamecenter for a free 60 minute trial.
p.s. if you have any tips you will love to share, please do.

Carrie the Caregiver

Atom Entertainment (formerly AtomShockwave) Ok, if you are anything like me I love these "time management" games. I am not sure what it is about serving customers or taking care of kids for points but I am addicted. I could not believe it when I saw that there was a going to be a Carrie the Caregiver 3!! Yes, I know I am pathetic but this is the life of a Mommy Gamer :) Carrie the Cargiver games can be compared to Diner Dash but with babies.

The first Carrie the Caregiver starts with Carrie taking care of babies at a daycare. I know, I know it is self explanatory but some people may not know. Carrie's job consists of feeding , cleaning and soothing babies. Sometimes babies may want need some medicine or a pacifer. While doing all this you have to remember to keep Carrie's energy up too. Carrie gets to travel to 5 different countries taking care of little ones and there are 50 levels to complete. As you progress through the game new things are always unlocking . I think this is one of the fun things about this, seeing what will be unlocked next.

Carrie the Caregiver 2 is a little different because now Carries takes care of toddlers. And just like real life these toddlers are busy. Carrie gets to do different activities this time around which include painting and writing. A really nice suprise is there are 75 levels and some mini games too.

My daughters and I love to play these games. We get pretty competitive too! We are always trying to see who is getting the furthest. My five year old is pretty good at it! You may think these type of games sound too easy but you could not be more wrong. You have to develop a good strategy to be able to clear each level. Believe me if a game is too easy, I will not play it!! When it comes to buying video games I like games that have more than 3 or 4 levels. It makes me feel like I am getting my money's worth.

So bye, bye for now. I am off to play Carrie the Caregiver 3. I wonder what suprises there are this time around? If you try this game or have already played it and have some tips or hints don't be stingy, share!!

Cooking Mama- for Wii and DS

Photobucket
These games are some of my all time favorites. I first tried Cooking Mama for Wii when we first got the system last summer. It turned out to be one of the best games for Wii when it comes to something the entire family can play. The only thing you need to play is the regular controller that comes with the system. The nunchuck is not required.

Cooking Mama is a cooking game that teaches you how to become a master chef. You are taught how to chop, slice, fry and so much more. The Wii version of Cooking Mama offers both single and multiplayer modes. You are able to earn different medals when you successfully complete a recipe. This game is really fun to play because the wireless remote control gives a lot of freedom when you are performing your tasks. Everyone in my family enjoyed playing this game from my five year old daughter to my dad. The hardest part for me was learning to crack an egg. I kept hitting it against the bowl too hard. My kids love all the chopping and slicing they are able to do. We definitely had lots of laughs while playing this game, especially when I burnt the popcorn!!

Since we enjoyed Cooking Mama on the Wii, I had to give it a try on DS. I was not sure if it would be fun because I could not imagine how you would be able to do all the movements on a handheld game. I am glad to say I was pleasantly surprised. I was able to use the stylus to chop, slice, knead, peel, stir and mix in the kitchen. I was a little concerned about breaking the screen while in the middle of an intense game but we had no problems at all. You are not limited to using the 75 recipes that are available, you get to combine recipes in this version. Another nice feature is when you have to cool down hot food, you blow into the microphone on the DS. My daughter loves that part! If you have a friend you can share a recipe with them for free. I am very happy to say that Cooking Mama on DS is just as fun as the Wii version.

When I heard about Cooking Mama 2 : Dinner with Friends for DS I rushed over to Gamefly to put it on hold. I could not think of any possible improvement for Cooking Mama so I was eager to play ASAP. This second version has 80 new recipes including chili dogs, meatloaf and ice cream. There are cooking contests you can play with at least 3 of your friends. My kids love the new option to change Mama's outfits or the kitchen decor. Another nice addition to this sequel is you get to cook for Mama and your friends. If you impress them you unlock more friends to cook for. I love all of the mini games added, they are quick and fun to play. You are still able to earn medals based on your quality of cooking and send a demo to a friend for free.

Mario Kart - Wii

Well it has finally arrived!!! Unfortunately I am on a budget and can not buy it. So I decided to chance it and check out Hollywood Video. Would you believe it was stock? I could not believe my luck!! I could barely wait until I got home.

I have been a fan of Mario forever and I love to play Mario Kart Double Dash on Gamecube. All the different cars and characters you can choose is one of the reasons my family loves it so much.

Now on to MarioKart for Wii. I was not sure what to expect but I was excited. First off this version of MarioKart has some really nice new features.
  • The first of course being you can use a wireless steering wheel, the original Wii controller and Nunchuck or a gamecube controller to play.
  • You can also personalize the game a little by choosing to play with your Mii instead of one of the Mario characters.
  • This time around you can choose to drive a kart or a motor bike. The motor bikes can even do wheelies. Personally I like the karts because it is easier for me to hit those power ups. Maybe with a little practice, one day I can move up to the motor bikes. They are fun to drive though. I like having the option.
  • There are some new power ups including a Triple Mushroom that gives you 3 speed boosts, a Mega Mushrooms which speeds you up and flatten other players, a Golden Mushroom which gives you unlimited speed boosts for a limited time period, Bullet Bill which speeds you up so fast you turn into a bullet, and Blooper which temporarily sprays ink on the vehicles in front of you.
  • And the courses. Wow, they are full of surprises. There are mushrooms to bounce off of, bridges, cows and cars that block your way and wall blocks that move if you bump them to name a few.
I really like this game and was not disappointed. It seems to be a game worth buying because it has so many courses and karts that can be unlocked. It does not hurt that you get a steering wheel included. Another big bonus is the fact that there is online play available. This game is fun for all ages and I will be saving up to buy one.

If you are interested in talking with other MarioKart fans and set up racing tournements, MarioKartWii is the place to visit. This forum is full of players of MarioKart.

You Act Like You Are 12 Years Old

You are a kid at heart. You never quite really grew up.

You still have an optimistic life view - and you look at the world with awe.

Playful and fun, you bring a lighthearted attitude to every part of life.

You're a little irresponsible, but your charm makes up for it (in most cases)!
